⚠️ Faded road markings put motorcyclists at serious risk on UK roads 🛣️

New RAC research reveals how widespread fading paint is making roads more dangerous for everyone:

🔴 One in six drivers say unclear road markings led to a near miss.
🔴 63% say they’ve been forced to guess lane positions due to worn lines.

For motorcyclists — already one of the most vulnerable groups on the road — unclear lane lines and junction markings can make split‑second decisions even more hazardous. In Britain, about 6 motorcyclists are killed and over 100 seriously injured every week in reported road collisions.

That’s why clearly visible road markings matter, especially for the safety of motorcyclists: they help all road users judge lane position, approach junctions safely, and avoid collisions.

If you are unfortunate enough to be knocked off your bike, the first thing to do is try to remain calm. It can be a stressful situation. If you trained with us, you will have all the necessary info and an SOS keyring. If you have non of those then keep this link handy on your phone.
