Monday–Friday | 8:00am–5:30pm | NO WEEKENDS
St Helens

We’re looking for an experienced, time served mechanic/technician to join our team.

You will be working on class 4, 5 and 7, cars, vans and minibuses.

Servicing, diagnostics, mot repairs, clutches, gearboxes, brakes and most mechanical jobs.

• 28 days' holiday including Bank Holidays

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You will Ideally have:
•More than 5 years mechanical experience
•Diagnostic expreience
• Experience working on class 4 and 7 vehicles
•Own tools
• Excellent punctuality and attendance.
•The ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.

THE CENTRE

This isn't an old garage that's had a quick refurb.

We've invested over £1.2 million into a bespoke MOT and service facility.

Everything is brand new:

• 2 ATL MOT bays
• 1 × Class 4, 5 & 7 ATL bay
• 1 × Class 4 ATL bay
• 7 × two-post lifts
• Brand-new compressor and workshop equipment
• Air and electrical connections at every ramp

WHO ARE WE?

Stone Tyres has been established in St Helens for over 10 years and has grown into a highly successful and well-respected independent tyre garage.

As our customer base has grown, so has the demand from existing customers for us to provide MOTs, servicing and mechanical repairs.

Rather than simply adding those services to the tyre garage, we decided to do it properly and invested over £1.2 million in a dedicated MOT & Service Centre.

So although the centre is new, the customer base isn't.

Stone Tyres has over 2,850 Google reviews with a 5-star rating, built on a reputation for trust, honest advice and excellent customer service.

Those same values will be at the heart of our new MOT & Service Centre.

SHOULD I TURN THIS INTO A V**E SHOP, TURKISH BARBERS, NAIL SALON OR NEWSAGENT......?

I'm delighted to announce that I have just purchased the old Holly's Florist building on Baldwin Street in the Town centre.

Rest assured it will be none of the above regardless of sums offered.

Wouldn't it be amazing if it was rented out to a florist again! Holly's was here for over 20 years, with a great reputation and location. Our town centre NEEDS proper businesses like this, and now is the right time with the town centre regeneration programme.

I should have this turned round in 8 weeks, ready for Xmas trade....

This purchase, the old Slinns building, The Clarendon, The Stone Tyres building and land purchase, show I GENUINELY believe in St Helens and it is definitely on the up

THE CLARENDON PUB...

Ok using my business page for reach.

You may or may not know that I bought the old clarendon pub building as it was destined to be a HMO.

Now that I have finished works on the old Slinns building and transformed that into the amazing Stone Tyres MOT and Service Centre I am getting ready to transform this building and bring it back into a good use.

I am in talks with the council to turn it into a children's nursery. There is plenty of demand already and will be even more when the new houses are built on the old Pilks site.

The reason for posting is I would love to see amy old pictures of the building, inside and out when it was the Clarendon Pub.

Would be great to see the history and build up a collection of before and afters.

NEED A VAN MOT?

We are getting so many vans and minibuses come to us for MOTs and servicing as not every MOT station (or tester) can do class 7 and class 5 MOTs.

We try our very best to get you in quickly, same day where possible, and can undertake any repairs with our time served technicians.
