🚗 Why I sometimes say “not yet”
One of the hardest parts of being a driving instructor is telling a learner they’re not ready for their test.
Nobody likes hearing it.
But my job isn’t just to help someone take a test.
My job is to help them pass when they’re ready and, more importantly, become safe drivers.
If a learner is still making regular serious faults, booking a test too early often leads to:
* unnecessary stress
* extra expense
* disappointment on the day
Sometimes waiting a few more weeks and gaining more experience is the best decision.
A delayed test is frustrating.
A failed test is often more frustrating.
🚦 I’d always rather be honest with a learner than tell them what they want to hear.
