🚨 Important changes to driving test booking rules are coming.

From 31 March 2026, learner drivers and approved driving instructors (ADIs) will only be able to make 2 changes to a driving test booking.

A change includes:
- changing the date or time
- changing the test centre
- swapping a test between 2 learners

This is part of the outcome of our consultation to improve the way driving tests are booked.

This update from DVSA will hugely impact how I currently manage the driving tests for my customers.
I anticipate this may cause considerable disruption to what (until now) has been a simple and efficient way of ensuring my customers don’t have to wait too long between reaching test standard and actually taking their test.
We’ll just have to see how things play out from April onwards.
