Happy new year everyone we started off the year with a ford ecosport 1.0 ecoboost wet timing belt replacement. We use all genuine parts when carrying out wet belt replacements and remove sump / hidden filters to clean all belt debris to prolong engine life

We had a audi a3 TDI come in with excessive smoke from exhaust we diagnosed turbo failure.
We removed unit to find poor servicing had blocked the oil feed and return to turbo which starved oil to turbo bearings causing total failure.

Own a transit 2016 onwards ? Did you know theres a high chance your running a wet belt system where the timing belt is immersed in oil which has proven to be problematic if servicing has not been kept up to date .
The belt degrades over time and blocks the oil strainer and cause oil pressure issues . Its even known for the teeth to come off the belt and cause engine failure

We had a skoda fabia come in customer reported bad running and no power. We soon found the fault ..... rodent damage. Vag group had used a product when producing the wiring looms that mice and rats love to eat the replacement looms now come coated in a special anti rodent tape to prevent the problem but we managed to repair the loom as a replacement is costly and currently back ordered

We recently replaced a wet belt on this ford focus 1.0 ecoboost
Wet belts are a design where the rubber timing belt is encased in the engine and operates in the engine oil which has proven to be very problematic especially if service schedules are not kept up or incorrect grades of oil are used on top ups .
The belt degrades and the belt particles block the oil strainer and turbo filter causing oil starvation and major engine damage

We had this golf gtd in for replacement timing belt and water pump when we stripped it down we found a oil leak from crankshaft oil seal so while we were there we replaced the internal wet belt which if they fail you loose oil pressure and your brakes because the brake vacuum pump is on the oil pump in some VAG models
