The work is never done, even on the day of rest :)...

Vauxhall Astra H came as a non- runner with some unusual electrical symptoms; diagnosis showed a comms error to the engine ECU.

Investigation and cross reference to the wiring diagrams found a corroded and broken functional earth hiding in the engine loom - new section grafted in and we had ignition !

Looks like all future remaps are likely to be "direct to chip" types. Only the automotive industry is vain enough to think they can stop remapping... 😁

With winter starting to close in now, people are increasingly finding that their heater isnt working the way that it should - or even not at all !

Today we have a customer who's L200 has suffered a matrix failure so a replacement was necessary - a scary proposition as you can see !

Can I interest anyone in a nice, steel fez ?? :D

Actually - its the prototype can for a radiator header tank to fit phase 1 & 2 Land Rover Freelander - the plastic original suffers from underbonnet heat and antifreeze attack, cracking around the filler neck and depressurising the system, leading to leaking and overheating.

Finished design will be available in 304 Stainless, est price circa £50. Watch this space for further developments.

Its not all performance and power... sometimes it's classic or even something historical....

1947 Howard Rota Gem Cultivator :)

Another non-starter - but you can't plug OBD2 into a Magneto lol. After a little head scratching and some YouTube advice - all up and running :)

Next project for this one is a hand made exhaust silencer - watch this space for further vintage adventures !
