A little video showing the difference after some much-needed work on this Golf GTI! 🔧

This one had been suffering from a rough idle and persistent misfires on cylinder 3.

We carried out an inlet and valve clean to remove the carbon build-up and fitted a new set of injectors to get to the bottom of the running issues.

As you can see from the video, it's now ticking over beautifully smoothly again! 👌

Another one diagnosed, sorted and back running as it should.

Another Honda CR-V in for some ECU solutions! 🔧💻

Although this ECU is accessible via OBD, we always like to take a bench read where possible. A little extra precaution and another backup of the original file is never a bad thing!

Also putting some new equipment to the test! ⚡ Our new 12V power bank allows us to run our tuning tools without the need for a 240V mains supply. Perfect for mobile work and keeping the setup neat and convenient.

🚗 2013 Skoda Superb 2.0 TDI 170 – Stage 1 Remap

Another Superb in with us for a performance upgrade! 🔥

This 170bhp 2.0 TDI came in for one of our Stage 1 ECU remaps, giving it a healthy increase in both power and torque.

📈 Performance figures:

Standard: 170bhp

Stage 1: Approx. 205bhp

Torque: Approx. 420Nm

As well as the Stage 1 remap, we also addressed an intermittent issue with the TVA (Throttle Valve Actuator), removing it from the equation to prevent the recurring faults.

The result is a much stronger, more responsive engine with improved pulling power and a much better driving experience.

🔧 2012 Ford Mondeo 2.2 TDCi – Stage 1 Remap + EGR Off! 🚗💨

Another one in for a performance upgrade at AC Autos Remapping!

📈 Expected Stage 1 figures: ⚡ Standard: 200 BHP / 420 Nm
🔥 Stage 1: Approx. 235 BHP / 480 Nm
💪 Gains: +35 BHP and +60 Nm!

The EGR was also switched off as part of the work.

🔧 Why having more than one tuning tool matters!

AutoTuner could only access this ECU via bench or boot, meaning we would have had to remove the ECU from the vehicle. Thankfully, with Magic Motorsport FLEX, we could carry out the remap directly through the OBD port, saving time and avoiding unnecessary ECU removal!

🔧 Golf GTI – Valve & Inlet Cleaning! 🔧

This Golf GTI came in for a valve and inlet cleaning with nearly 200,000 miles on the clock! 😳🔥

With that sort of mileage, carbon build-up can become a real issue, especially on direct-injection engines. Over time, deposits can accumulate on the inlet valves, potentially affecting airflow, performance and engine efficiency.

A proper clean helps remove those stubborn deposits and gives the engine a chance to breathe as it should! 💨

🔴⚫ WE’RE BACK UP AND RUNNING! ⚫🔴

The office refit is done (for now 😂), the PC and tuning tools are all set up, and we’re ready to get back to business! 💻🔧

We’ve also got the new Magic Motorsport KORHEX ready to go, and today we’ve used it to unlock our first PSA MD1CS003 ECU in-house! 💪🔥

Another bit of kit added to the arsenal, meaning more ECU unlocking capabilities without having to send units away!

The office is looking fresh, the equipment is ready, and we’re looking forward to getting stuck back into some serious tuning! 🚗💨

Looking fresh for now… let’s see how long that lasts! 😂

🔧 BMW 535d – ECU Drop-Off & Map Tweak 🔧

Today we had a customer drop off the ECU from their BMW 535d. The main request was to add an EGR solution to the software that was already on the vehicle.

I wouldn't really call this a map fix—more of a map tweak.

The base calibration wasn't actually that bad. It just needed a few areas refining to improve the overall calibration and make everything work together properly.

The customer wasn't necessarily looking for any extra power, but after optimising the file, it's definitely picked up some additional performance along with improved drivability. Sometimes a few well-thought-out changes can make all the difference.

It just goes to show that not every file needs starting from scratch. If the foundation is good, a few careful tweaks can often produce an excellent end result.
