Hi Everyone,

Just a little message to say that I have turned off messaging on Facebook Messenger because of the complete and utter time wasters 🙃

There’s plenty of genuine people that make contact through Facebook, but unfortunately there are a fair few that just waste my time.

The Message button should now direct you to WhatsApp where your messages should be replied to a bit more efficiently, but don’t expect a reply at 10pm on a Sunday night 😆

Thank you!

2009 Vauxhall Astra VXR in for some TLC.

A fairly common problem on these engines.
Valve stem oil seal replacement without removing the cylinder head. A fairly time consuming job, but rewarding once complete.

Both camshaft’s removed to gain access to the valve springs and seals. Filling the cylinder with compressed air to stop the valves falling out whilst replacing the valve stem oil seals.

Once the seals were fitted, a new timing belt and water pump kit were fitted along with new camshaft seals, and rover cover gasket. The customer decided to give the rocker cover a fresh body colour respray whilst it was off.

Some new engine oil, a new oil filter and fresh anti-freeze to finish off the job!

A very happy customer to say the least 🚙💨

2007 Ford Mondeo 2.5 ST in for a Dual Mass Flyhweel, and Clutch upgrade to deal with the performance upgrades that were previously done elsewhere causing the original clutch to slip, as to be expected on a car of this age still fitted with the original clutch. 🚗💨

Apologies that this page has been dormant for a little while!

I am still here plodding along with the work load. Nothing too exciting to report, with the usual run of the mill work that has previously been posted.

Here’s some snaps that have randomly been taken on my phone over the past couple of months.

Call 07518966817 to get booked in. 🚗🛠️

Thank you to everyone that has supported me through another year of mayhem! 😂 Today was my last working day of 2024!

I’ll be back to work on the 6th January 2025, so phone calls or messages between now and then won’t be responded to until the 6th January.

I’ll be prepping for another chaotic year ahead 🤣

A car comes in with a very noisy engine-

‘I had it serviced last year’.

No you didn’t.

The end 😂

This is the worst oil filter I’ve seen in the last 13 years of dealing with cars. The Engine had gone pop and the car has been scrapped. Lack of servicing will cause major damage to your engine. Unfortunately some people learn the hard way.

This 2018 Mercedes GLA200 came in for a routine service last month. It was the first time I had seen this car, so I gave it a good looking over whilst carrying out the service.

Overall it was in pretty good condition. The only things to mention were that the coolant pump had a minor leak and that an EGR fault was stored in the ECU. A quick glance at the EGR system to find that the EGR diverter valve actuator had snapped off.

Fast forward a month or so, the car is back for the coolant pump and EGR actuator to be replaced (With Genuine Mercedes parts).

After replacing the parts in question and bleeding the cooling system, it was time for a road test. The road test went well but I noticed a horrendous judder from the car whilst braking. A quick test in the roller brake tester showed that the front and rear brake discs were warped. The overall brake condition was fairly good, but clearly the driving experience wasn’t. To put the car right it needed the brakes replacing all round.

So a quick message to the customer who was on holiday, very swiftly gave me the go ahead with the brake repairs. It’s safe to say that this Mercedes is running and driving exactly like it should be, perfect!

2013 Ford Focus 1.0 Ecoboost, Timing Belt replacement. This is pretty much the same job as the previous PSA and Transit posts regarding the lovely ‘Wetbelt’ design. However, it involves a hell of a lot more work, effort and removal of components compared to the others to gain access to the belt.

Luckily, this one had not really deteriorated too badly. Although the car had only done 36k miles.

The same rules apply. Sump removal, oil pick up pipe clean and re sealing just about every component that has come off in the first place 😂 The water pump and oil pump drive belt also comes as part of the kit, along with various seals directly from Ford. Along with an extra shim and new crankshaft pulley bolt to ensure the correct torque whilst using a torque multiplier.

A very involved, but satisfying job at the same time. On to the next one…🤣
