You don't need to crash your car to bring it to usโ€ฆ

Donโ€™t get me wrong, we love an extensive collision repair but no matter how big or small the job is, it always gets treated with the same Coopers standard.

This classic RX-7 came in just needing the mirrors sorting out. They were looking tired and weathered so we brought them back to being factory fresh.

Gilly and John spent time taking them right back to bare material, removing all of the old, faded paint to create a perfectly smooth base. Leon then brought them into the booth where he applied epoxy and high build primer followed by sanding and spraying a high gloss, flawless finish that looks like it just rolled off the assembly line.

Itโ€™s often the small details like mirrors that completely transform a car.

While we could have pieced and plastic welded the original bumper back together, sourcing a brand new OEM bumper was actually the cleaner, higher quality and more cost effective route for the owner.

Once the bumper was sourced and ordered Gilly stripped down the entire rear end. Cars like this require extra care, taking your time ensures every sensor, clip and bracket goes back together exactly as the manufacturer intended.

Leon got to work finding a colour match using our paint scanner. He didnโ€™t just rely on what the scanner was telling him, he then did multiple spray out cards and held them against the car in all lighting to ensure it was an edge to edge match. The bumper was then prepped for paint and transferred to the booth to be brought to life.

Once cured, Gilly built it back up ensuring everything was aligned with no gaps and finished it off with a fresh OEM Lotus badge.

The job isnโ€™t quite finished yet though! The Emira is back out on the road for the next month to allow the fresh paint to fully gas off and cure. Once that month is up, sheโ€™s coming right back to us to have brand new PPF (Paint Protection Film) pieces applied down the bumper edges to keep that fresh paint protected for years to come.

No shortcuts, no plastic welds and no filler. Just proper methods and proper results. Thatโ€™s the Coopers standard. โค๏ธ

When was the last time you saw a Monaro VXR8??

We were lucky to have been trusted to give this one a tidy up across the offside rear door, side skirt and bonnet. Each panel was marked up to highlight the stone chips and any imperfections that needed our attention.

Curly stripped the affected panels and repaired each of them before applying a high build primer. Proper prep work is the backbone of any paint job that actually lasts and is something we take seriously here at Coopers. We are providing repairs that will last for years not months.

The panels were then handed over to Leon in the booth to lay down the color. When you're doing an edge to edge match rather than a blend, your mix and spray technique have to be flawless. Spray out cards were carried out to ensure the match was 100/10 and Itโ€™s no surprise that Leon executed this to perfection.

Once cured, the painted panels were re-fitted to the car before it received a de-prep and polish ready for hand over to our customer.
