The company undertook varied War work from 1939 until 1945. War work included manufacturing and installing wading equipment for Sherman tanks, building parts for floating Bailey bridges, smoke floats, parts for gliders, mortar firing pins and essential parts for Spitfire fighters which were assembled locally in Southampton.
**
The British Army owned modified Sherman Tanks were used in the D Day landings and other beach head landings during World War Two.

A 1957 Wolseley 1500 Mk1 is being prepared for sale as a used car. Maybe it was taken in part exchange in 1961? See the same Wolseley in the used showroom in another photo.

"FOU" registrations were issued in Hampshire between June 1947 and October 1948. No doubt this number was put aside for this car.
