We are closed for staff holidays and will re open 8:30am on Monday 7th October. The booking diary still has some spaces for the week when we return so if you would like to make a booking please leave a message with details of your requirement and a return contact number.

To all our friends, neighbours and customers, it is my saddest duty to pass on some devastating news. On Sunday 29th January my darling Kim passed suddenly without warning, peacefully in her sleep whilst we were away in Berkshire at a family Party. Her last night was spent laughing and joking with loved ones and friends and she saved her last dance for me. You may have met her in reception from time to time or during the long walks around Cliffe and Cliffe Woods, a pastime she thoroughly enjoyed – delivering MOT and Service reminder letters. She always welcomed a chat and had a smile for everyone. A daughter, mother, grandmother and to me, my dearest love, she will be sadly missed by all who knew our beautiful, caring and loving lady. Rest in peace my darling.

On Saturday, due to the increasing spread of COVID-19, the Prime Minister announced a month-long countrywide lockdown starting from Thursday 5th November to Wednesday 2nd December.
Garages provide critical services to infrastructure as well as keeping our own personal vehicles safe. These days our journeys are shorter but as important as ever, as children are taken to school, key workers remain mobile and food is brought back to our homes. We will be open as usual just as we were during the original lockdown earlier in the year.
Customers will still be free to bring their cars as normal for MOT’s and essential repairs and for those who need ‘a little extra service’ we offer local collection and delivery.
When it comes to our Customers, Staff and our Community, please be assured that we continue to follow the Governments guidance on Personal Protection and distancing. Indeed, every Car is sanitized before it leaves our workshop for Customers peace of mind.

6-month MOT exemptions will be ending on 1 August

Yesterday, 29 June, the Department for Transport announced that the 6-month MOT exemption for cars, vans and motorcycles introduced during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, will end on 1 August.
Why is the MOT exemption ending?
We were one of many garages that stayed open and many of our customers continued to get their vehicles tested despite the exemption.
DoT has decided that as non-essential services start to re-open in line with government guidance, and more vehicles are back on the roads, having an up-to-date MOT will help to keep vehicles safe to drive.
We are as ready as we can be for more drivers who need to get an MOT but would like to invite customers to beat the rush, in particular those with a vehicle due an MOT from 1 August to book early to secure a test slot.
We continue to operate with enhanced cleaning and sanitizing of workspace, keys and common touch areas: door locks, steering wheel, etc. MOTs, Service and repair work can be conducted while maintaining social distancing and we are following Government guidance about operating safely.
Indeed, having recently invested in an O3 generator, we can sanitize the surfaces, even the air and air conditioning system in your car for your peace of mind, available from £18.
O3 is a very effective method used in killing bacteria and virus' , i believe it is used in medical facilities for exactly that purpose.

Generally due in part to unavoidably hitting potholes at speed, this very dangerous suspension failure is not uncommon and the MOT is designed to pick this up as a Major safety issue. Fortunately this particular Coil Spring failure was captured in the lower cup but if it spins and escapes it can spear the side wall of the front tyre with potentially disasterous results. This particular car has been MOT'd against its 12 month anniversary and fortunately the owner did not use the 6 months extension which may have seen some unpleasant consequences.

So many people staying indoors and keeping safe.Standing on the forecourt, It has been so very quiet with the reduced traffic on the roads, very unusual as there are more lorries than cars at the moment. Last nights 8pm NHS and front line workers support was so pleasing to hear and so well deserved as they continue to serve and keep our country from the brink. Most businesses are obviously affected and we are running on reduced staff but will endeauvour to stay open for MOTs, Service and Repair although we may be a little stretched and work on reduced hours. For those who need to know their car is safe or needs repairs, We will continue to collect and deliver where needed.
