WE DON’T JUST RESTORE CARS… WE RESTORE AUTOMOTIVE HISTORY. 🏁

At Paulies Speed Shop, our passion goes far beyond the cars that come through the workshop.

AC COBRA | CHEVY 350 SBC 🔥

This AC Cobra came into us rough running and not firing as it should.

After carrying out a full engine health check, we worked through the ignition system, resetting and correcting the ignition and advance timing to get the Chevy 350 SBC running properly again.

With the engine now running as it should, we’re moving onto another common Cobra/SBC problem — heat management. 🔥

Due to the header design and extremely limited space around the plugs, these setups can suffer badly from burnt HT leads and plug boots, eventually leading to misfires and ignition problems.

So we’re installing our complete Paulies Speed Shop SBC Ignition Heat Management Package, consisting of:

⚙️ Custom HT lead mounting brackets
⚙️ Machined HT lead guides
⚙️ Individually built HT leads
🔥 High-temperature protective jackets on the leads
🔥 Additional heat protection around the plug ends
⚡ Designed to keep the leads routed safely away from the headers

The aim is simple — protect the ignition system, improve reliability and keep it firing on all 8 cylinders.

We’re currently developing complete package options not only for AC Cobras, but for Chevy Small Block applications in general.

Supply-only and fully fitted packages will be available.

This AC Cobra came into us rough running and not firing as it should.

🔧 QUIET ON SOCIALS… BUSY IN THE WORKSHOP! 🔧

We’ve been extremely quiet on the main feed recently, but if you’ve been keeping an eye on our stories, you’ll have seen a few snippets of what’s been going on behind the scenes this month.

The team have been flat out across a number of projects, pushing them through the final stages and getting them ready to hit the paint booth. 🎨

One of those projects is this Morris, which is now well into the final stages of metal preparation and welding.

We’ve been working through:
• Final metal finishing across the entire shell
• Completing the remaining welding and fabrication
• Seam sealing throughout
• Final completion and finishing of the roof
• Making sure every area is properly prepared before paint

We’re now only a couple of days away from getting this shell ready for high-build primer, stone-chip protection and finally, colour.

As always, we’re leaving no stone unturned. The work underneath the paint is just as important as the finish on top, and we want every stage to meet the standard of quality we aim for at Paulies Garage / Paulies Speed Shop.

Plenty more to come on this Morris — and we’ve got loads of other projects progressing through the workshop that we can’t wait to show you.

Will we be seeing you this weekend? Join us at the Earlcote charity event this Saturday. We have a stand with some of our favourite pieces from the shop being sold too!

We will also be at Carvers on the 30th August between 10-4 along with a stand and some more memorabilia and cars!

A huge thank you to every single person who came along to our Drive Out Day. Seeing so many incredible cars cruising together, sharing stories, making new friends and creating lasting memories is exactly what it’s all about.

From everyone here at Paulies Garage / Speed Shop, thank you for your continued support. It genuinely means the world to us to see this amazing community come together and enjoy the passion we all share.

A massive thank you to Boonys Barbers for hosting us and making everyone feel so welcome.

Big thanks as well to The Rum Life for keeping everyone refreshed throughout the day, and Bussin Burgers for serving up some fantastic food that kept us all fuelled.

Days like these remind us why we love what we do. We can’t wait to organise the next one and make even more memories together.
