School’s back… is your car ready for it? 🚗🎒

The school run is back, the roads are getting busier and suddenly the car you’ve barely thought about all summer is back on daily duty 😅

Tyres, warning lights, brakes, servicing, MOTs or that little problem you’ve been meaning to get sorted.

We’re taking a well earned day off today and giving the whole Shaw’s team a chance to enjoy the August Bank Holiday.

Another heatwave = another busy week for air con ❄️☀️

If yours isn’t blowing as cold as it should, don’t wait until it stops working completely.

We don’t just chuck gas in and hope — we test the system first and make sure there isn’t a leak or another fault causing the problem.

Sometimes the difference between a straightforward repair and a much bigger job is having the right equipment.

This driveshaft was completely seized in place.

Using our specialist driveshaft pressing tool, we were able to remove it safely without damaging the shaft.

Without it, the job would likely have taken considerably longer and the customer could have ended up needing a new driveshaft as well.

A warning light doesn’t automatically tell you which part needs replacing. It tells us the car has detected a problem that needs testing properly.

We don’t just read the code, clear it and hope it stays away.

We test it.
We diagnose it.

And more importantly... is it actually being updated?

Many modern vehicles no longer have a paper service book. Instead, the service history is stored digitally by the manufacturer.

If it isn't updated correctly, you could end up with gaps in your service history, which can affect your vehicle's value and even some warranty claims.

At Shaw's Service Station, we can update Digital Service Records for many manufacturers, giving you main dealer servicing without the main dealer price.

To the naked eye, an air conditioning system can look absolutely fine.

But with UV dye and specialist equipment, the real fault starts to reveal itself.

It’s another reason why we don’t just “top the gas up” and hope for the best.

We test. We diagnose. We prove the fault.
