Busy past 24 hours after fixing my own LDV, we drove straight out to help a fellow LDV lover get his bus ready for its re-MOT at 10:30 this morning.

This LDV 400 Convoy bus came in with a small list of MOT majors that needed sorting fast:

- Fog lights not working
- Excessive oil leak
- Propshaft bearing issue

We worked right up to the very last minute to make sure this LDV had the best chance of passing.

✅ Fog lights now fully wired to a new illuminated switch, as required for the MOT
✅ Excessive oil leak traced to the front crank seal
✅ Propshaft bearing only needed tightening

All completed within 8 hours labour.

Busy working late into the evening and through to this morning getting customers back on the road 🔧🌙

Today’s jobs included:

🔧 LDV Convoy diagnostic – wheel wobble at low speed.
Knocking traced to the steering box, further investigation needed.

🔧 Alfa Romeo diagnostic – engine rocking issue.
Fault found to be the top engine mount.

🔧 LDV 400 Convoy Bus – MOT work completed:
• Fog lights wired to a new illuminated switch for MOT compliance
• Excessive oil leak diagnosed as front crank seal
• Propshaft bearing tightened and sorted

✅ All completed within 8 hours labour.

Even us professionals have our own breakdowns and mechanical issues. For the past two days I’ve been off the road due to a propshaft UJ shredding its ball bearings. Thankfully, I’ve got the skills and knowledge to repair and replace it myself.

We’re now back on the road as of this evening here in North Yorkshire.
