Another ruined ST cluster courtesy of a mobile phone repairer. I found loose solder particles in between the fingers of the main processor!
Had to clone a replacement for the customer.

Very badly cracked one this afternoon. Repaired and ready for posting in the morning. Let’s hope it’s sorted now as the car wouldn’t even start. If not, I managed to read the data from it to clone a replacement if required. 🤙🏼

Another example of someone else’s attempt at a repair. Broken track and damaged pads. I managed to repair it but please send your clusters to people who know what they’re doing.
Also, who paints lines on the overlay itself to calibrate the needles? 🤦🏻‍♂️

Had a customer who recently bought an ST which had been colour modded to pink. He wasn’t a fan of the colour so he sent me his cluster (and a new large lcd one to be cloned) and all his switches.
I have spent most of today stripping and repairing the absolute carnage that someone has done. Some of the worst I’ve seen. If someone charges for this standard of work they should be ashamed. If someone did themselves, having a go, don’t next time.

These are just a few of the pics I took to send to the customer.

If you want a job done properly please send it to me.

How did this Focus even run? Very badly cracked. Repaired and modded 🧊

I’ve had 3 clusters in a row now that have been ‘repaired’ More like butchered. For those people who think I’ll have a go because people have said it’s easy…don’t. When the clusters are sent to me, what is normally a fairly straightforward repair turns into hours of putting someone else’s bodges right.
