I have a small favour to ask...

out of all the friends I have on facebook , if only a handfull of you decide to help I would be very grateful If you could visit my facebook business page Carla’s driving school and scroll across to the the options/tab bar and scroll across to 'Community'.

Click that and it will bring you to a page. There will be an option to invite ALL your friends to this page .....

This should take all of 20/30 seconds and would be brilliant if you could help support us!

Will return the favour for small businesses who help

Thank you for taking the time to read this and support us!

On your 17th birthday you could easily sit and pass your driving theory test, there is no requirement for you to have sat in a car or even had a lesson!

So let’s assume you pass, you could then go on line and book yourself a driving test, remember you have never driven a car never had a lesson!

The theory test is NOT a thumbs up to book your driving test, it’s a theoretical aid to understanding, the rules of the road, understanding road markings, signs and etiquette!
If you study the theory test by just memorising answers and pass it, you have effectively wasted your time!

You need the knowledge from the theory study and the Highway Code to empower you, to help you make decisions when you are driving, in essence to keep you and those travelling with you safe, remember if you mess up, everyone in the car with you pays the price, including the innocent children who may be sitting in the back!

If you are someone who has passed their theory and still struggles with signs speed limits, road markings etc, then there is a good chance you will come unstuck on your test!

If you try and drive on roads by memory then again you will come unstuck!
Road signs and road markings are like having a silent driving instructor in the car, but only if you know what they mean and can apply them to the situation you are driving into!

The biggest boo boo for learners was the multiple choice theory test, learning answers is a waste of time, studying and understanding rationale arms you far better for real life driving!

Remember the minute you sit behind the wheel of a car, you become responsible for the safety of everyone who travels with you, it’s your ability and knowledge that determines how safe the car is, whether you are 17 or 70 the burden of responsibility rests on the shoulders of the driver!

The road is a very dangerous place to be if you are unsure of anything ..

Nerves can undoubtedly play a part in whether you succeed or fail a driving test, yet lots of very nervous people pass their driving test 1st time every day, HOW?

Well, firstly remember, instructors don’t teach you to fail, so stick to what they have told you and what you have been taught! Forget what uncle Bill says about his test in 1975 it’s not relevant.
Don’t listen to horror stories from others about how bad their tests were, people love a bit of drama and they will always make things sound worse! Instructors are at the test centre far more times than family and friends!
Keep the date of your test and time to yourself, if you are nervous why have an audience?
Now this is important, STICK to the routines you have been taught, go through the procedures in your mind, mentally plan your manoeuvres and how to deal with junctions! Mental planning is so important, it helps you focus on the positive not on the possible negatives!
Remember your lane discipline, three reasons to be in the right hand lane:
Turning right
Overtaking
If ONE arrow tells you that you must use that lane.
Otherwise stay left!
Watch for road markings and signs they are like a silent instructor in the car!
The test lasts about the length of an Eastenders episode, just make sure you don’t have to go back for a second episode 🀣!
Whoever you are whoever you are learning with, I hope this helps and good luck!

From Sunday onwards we have the chance of rain. After weeks of extremely dry weather, this can cause something known as the β€˜Florida Ice Effect’, which can make roads incredibly slippery.

It happens in the first part of a rain shower when the oils, dust, sludge and grime all get wet and are brought to the surface by the rain, creating a sheen on the roads which makes riding or driving similar to being on ice. This can make it much easier to suddenly lose control of your vehicle and spin out.

In the past, we have seen an increase in the number of road traffic collisions occurring during these periods, so we wanted to publish this warning beforehand.

If we do suddenly experience rain, take extra caution if you’re out on the roads. Ride or drive safely and be a considerate road user; ensuring that you do not travel too close to other road users, and allow extra distance for braking.
