I've been developing a MAP/TPS conversion setup for older Bosch systems that originally have a 'vane' type Air Flow Meter and two throttle switches (one for idle and the other for full throttle).
I've converted one of the old throttle switch inputs into a 5V reference output and the other switch input to a 0-5V TPS input. This means that throttle movement is now used for acceleration enrichment and activates from any throttle position. Idle position and full throttle position are now set in software.
It uses the AFM supply, ground and signal wires for the same functions in the MAP sensor, with a separate Air Temperature Sensor.
I'm also going to use the 'barometric' input channel for the idle mixture adjustment. I haven't actually DONE it yet but I know what I need to do in order to do it. The original AFM has an air bypass channel for mixture adjustment, which increases or reduces the 'load' value slightly to change the mixture. Since it's not possible to do that with a MAP sensor (not without some nasty air bleed or something) I'm doing it with an analogue input that I can reconfigure to make a small injector duty adjustment using a potentiometer under the left front seat by the ECU.
I'm going to expand the maps too, for better resolution, and I've already made the idle and full throttle maps into tables. They are normally just a 2D 'line' referenced to RPM, but making the idle map into a 3D table with a load axis will give better speed control and mixture stability with changes in load; and making the full throttle 2D line into a 3D table will allow for boosted applications, should somebody want to do that.
