An experienced driver can look back and remember a time they pushed a boundary, too fast on a bend, not stopping at a stop sign, got away with it, and convinced themselves it was fine.

You know this moment will happen. The question is whether you recognise it when it does.
Most crashes happen on roads you drive regularly, where you "know" the road and are too relaxed and complacant. Casually glancing at a text message and you do not notice the gorilla in the room - see selective attention test.

Driving is not about what you can get away with. It is about the standards you choose to keep when nobody is watching.
Safe driving is for life, not just a quick test.
