A big project from '23. This interesting bike and sidecar was made for the purpose of doing funerals, it was too wide, too low and too heavy but most of all it wasn't mounted rigid enough to stop the chassis flexing and weaving when ridden.
It needed to be stiffened with bracing that was strong enough to remove all the twisting and lateral deflection, the deck needed to be raised to make loading a coffin on and off easier, lightened and narrowed to make controlling it easier, third wheel needed to move rearward and freeplay removing.
The deck mounting were modified to raise it up, the swingarm mounts were remachined to be a close tolerance unlike the sloppy old ones and to give the correct wheel camber angle and toe in, spacers remade to remove wheel freeplay, new lighter frame tubing welded in. Extra adjustable bracing top and bottom to adjust bike lean out angles, ally deck trimmed down to fit whilst keeping the TT inspired vinyl wrap. All steel parts powdercoated and protected,
It's now rides as it should, giving the passengers the ride they deserve.
The idea behind the project is a very thoughtful one, giving a way for people to have a send off in the way they enjoyed their life, by giving bike lovers one last ride.
