Four doors. Four faults. One Tesla Model X back working properly. ⚡🔧

Our second Tesla Model X customer from Canary Wharf, London made the trip down to STORMAUTOWORX with problems affecting all four electronic doors.

The Model X door system is seriously clever, but unfortunately these cars can suffer with water ingress and corrosion inside the doors, damaging wiring, connectors and the electronic drive components.

Repairs carried out:

⚡ Both rear Falcon Wing doors repaired and calibrated
⚡ Front electronic doors stripped and diagnosed
⚡ New door wiring harnesses fitted
⚡ New door motors fitted
⚡ Programming & coding completed using genuine Tesla diagnostics
✅ All four doors restored to correct operation

The photos show exactly why proper diagnosis matters — corrosion inside the door electrical system can cause some very strange faults and isn’t always obvious from the outside.

Another Model X repaired without throwing parts at it, correctly set up and back with its owner in London. 👌🏽

23 plate Land Rover Defender — back on the road in just 48 hours ⚡🔧

This Land Rover Defender Hybrid came into STORMAUTOWORX requiring a replacement DC/DC converter — a fault we’re seeing increasingly often on modern JLR hybrid platforms.

The DC/DC converter plays a vital role in taking power from the high-voltage system and maintaining the vehicle’s 12V electrical system, so when it fails it can quickly leave the vehicle out of action.

Work carried out:
⚡ New DC/DC converter supplied & fitted
🔋 New 12V battery supplied & fitted
✅ System checked and vehicle returned to the customer

From the vehicle arriving with us to sourcing the parts, completing the repair and getting it back on the road — 48 hours.

This Land Rover Discovery Sport P300e came into STORMAUTOWORX with a high-voltage battery deterioration fault and excessive cell voltage deviation.

Live data showed around a 60mV difference across the battery cell groups, so the pack was removed and investigated at module level.

After testing every module and individual cell group, we identified the weak areas within the original battery.

Repairs carried out:
⚡ Full HV battery diagnosis and strip-down
⚡ Individual module & cell-group testing
⚡ Two weak battery modules replaced
⚡ Donor modules carefully charged and balanced to match the original pack
⚡ HV battery rebuilt and coolant system purged
⚡ Faults cleared and vehicle extensively road tested

The replacement modules were balanced and charged, allowing us to bring the pack back together as evenly as possible.

Small voltage differences can create big problems in modern hybrid battery systems. Diagnosis first. Repair second.

BMW i3 Range Extender Fault Diagnosed & Repaired ⚡🔧

This BMW i3 came into us with a Range Extender issue where the REX unit was not activating to support charging of the high-voltage battery pack.

After carrying out diagnostic checks, we traced the fault to a failed crankshaft sensor. With the sensor not providing the correct signal, the range extender engine could not operate as intended.

A main dealer repair for this issue was quoted at over £2,500 + VAT.

Our repair cost: £1,920 including VAT.

A proper diagnosis can make all the difference — especially on EV and hybrid vehicles where replacing parts without confirming the root cause can quickly become expensive.

This Range Rover P300e came in with:
• No charging possible
• No EV drive mode
• No SAVE mode available

After full diagnosis, the faults were traced into the high-voltage battery system.

Work carried out:
✔ BECM repair
✔ High-voltage battery pack rebalance
✔ Battery coolant heater replacement

Jobs like this are exactly why proper hybrid and EV knowledge matters.
These systems are complex, and accurate diagnosis is everything — especially when multiple faults are affecting charging and drive functions.

Most garages won’t even open one of these.
Dealers will quote months of waiting… if they’ll take it on at all.

At STORMAUTOWORX, we stripped this P400e pack down to every module, diagnosed the imbalance, and rebuilt all nine high-voltage units on the bench. Every cell group was charged, balanced, and matched to within millivolts before the pack went back together.

No guesswork.
No “replace the whole battery.”
