A wonderfully sunny day down on the south coast today so I wheeled the Splitscreen project out of the garage to make room for getting some epoxy primer on the cab doors.

The pictures make them look way better than they are; they’re pretty rough around the edges so are going to need a fair amount of work to get them into a more respectable shape.

I’ve had quite a few new followers on Facebook over the last few weeks so now seemed like the ideal time to reintroduce myself!
What started as just me being a stubborn git nearly 8 years ago when restoring our bay window and deciding to tackle the upholstery myself, has become a brilliant side business for me alongside my day job.

I’ve lost count of the number of interiors I’ve build now, but every single one has been a privilege to work on and get to know the owners of an amazing range of old cars.

So this is me, Jim, back in 2020 stripping down the rear bench for our Baja bug in our old garden which I then reupholstered in this great Navajo fabric. 👋

Get in contact it you have any upholstery work needed for your project (old or new!) and I’ll be happy to help. Perhaps I’ll do another little giveaway when I hit 1,100 followers on Facebook?

Beach Buggy rear cushions all finished up for Rhys’ amazing ride ().
With Rhys moving his fuel tank to the front of his buggy he wanted to neaten up the rear area so I’ve made some cushions to match his existing front seats. Diamond pleated vinyl with a soft suede insert. What’s not to love!

Progress on the splitscreen has been pretty much nonexistent recently but Ive got the cab doors media blasted today by Dan at to give them a much needed clean up.
I’ll be getting some epoxy primer on them over the weekend and then replacing the hinge pins so I can get them attached back to the shell to give me a reference point for the new front arches.

Building up a stack of box cushions for Luke’s T25 Holdsworth.
I’ve always used this ancient Casio calculator from secondary school when calculating my cut lists for a project. It must be at least 25 years old now but is still going strong (I don’t remember ever having changed the battery!)
