We love a job like this.

Just over £6000 quoted to “maybe” fix this car.
Well i can say for a fact it would have been £6k wasted.

Our customer was quoted for a new ecu plus lots of other electrical components after making the assumption from the fault codes given.

We were asked to look at replacing the ecu and coding it to the car.

The car would crank but woudnt start.

We started out by seeing if we could communicate with the ecu which we could - we did have a coding error so we sorted that and still the same no start
We then flashed an original file over the ecu which highlighted a Adblue fault what had been poorly deleted.
We then carried out more checks and realised the Adblue tank was empty 👀

£6000 quote and all it needed in the end was £30s worth of Adblue 😂 we now have one very happy customer who’s also £6000 better off, and all from bumping in to me in B&Q😂

Correct diagnostics often involves manual testing and thinking out side the box, not just relying on what the diag tool tells us!
The codes point to the turbo which is probably why it was replaced however in this instance this wasn’t the case 👀

The picture doesn’t do it justice but this oil filter was rock solid, so much so it starved the turbo causing it to fail...

The picture doesn’t do it justice but this oil filter was rock solid, so much so it starved the turbo causing it to fail , when you buy a used car don’t take the sellers word that it has been serviced , for peace of mind get an oil change done and save your self future issues like this n47 owner has had to deal with , thousands in repairs what could of been prevented with simple oil change.

Today’s visitors were a couple of French lads who’d driven all the way from the South of France to explore the stunning Scottish Highlands. What an adventure… until their Boxer decided to say “Non!” 😅

With less than 200 miles left of range due to an AdBlue fault which would of left them high and dry somewhere around Glasgow 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. Quelle catastrophe! 🚐💨

Luckily, they found their way to us!

We carried out a temporary AdBlue solution , getting the van running perfectly again so they can finish their holiday and make the long journey back home. 🇫🇷➡️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿➡️🇫🇷

We’ve also safely saved their original ECU file and sent them a copy, so once they’re back in France they can have the fault repaired properly and revert everything back to standard.

Another holiday saved! 🍻

This Mercedes came in dragged behind a AA van with a DPF so badly blocked it wouldn’t rev properly and kept cutting out.After diagnosing the fault, we found the vehicle had been remapped with a stage 1 and an AdBlue delete that had also disabled the DPF function. The result? No DPF warnings, just a turbo fault caused by excessive exhaust backpressure because the turbo simply couldn’t breathe.We’ll be removing the DPF, cleaning it properly, refitting it, and returning the software back to the correct factory calibration.This is exactly why quality tuning matters. Cheap, automated software can end up costing far more than doing the job properly in the first place.
