Had a good evening working on the project car last night. Got the down pipe and center section heat wrapped but having to wait for some more to arrive before I can do the manifold.
Hoping this will help keep the engine bay temps down a few degrees.

Nice easy job for a Sunday afternoon, new expansion tank for a returning customer.

As can be seen in the pictures the old one had started to go brittle and leak, replacement one fitted and refilled with fresh coolant.

This post is here to highlight the importance of changing your gearbox oil at regular intervals. This customer bought their car to us complaining of clunky and sluggish gear changes in the automatic gearbox so we drained and flushed the gearbox oil using genuine dealer oils at the customers request. The oil on the left is new, clean oil and the oil on the right is the old oil we drained from the vehicle. The viscosicity and performance of the old oil will have had serious detrimental effects and once changed the customer reported smooth gear changes without any clunkiness or hesitation.

A returning customer called us saying they were having issues with their car. The automatic gearbox wasnt changing as smoothly as it used to, and the car was sometimes shuddering when slowing down. We asked if they knew when the gearbox oil was last changed and they said there was no evidence of it having ever being changed. We advised them to have the transmission fluid changed and the system flushed to ensure the cleanest oil possible. The customer also requested that we do a full service at the same time as the last recorded service was done 60 thousand miles ago, so we also did this aswell. As you can see in the pictures below the service was well overdue, and the gearbox oil was well past its best. It is supposed to be red but came out black. Happily the customer reported no more issues with the gear changes, and that the car is running alot smoother than ever before. Another happy customer
