It's been a mental couple of days for the South lincs total recovery team. It all began yesterday around 4pm when Pointon (our local village) was heavily flooded. First of all Ian and Richard used their 4x4 trucks to partially block the roads off going in and out of the village in order to slow the traffic down during rush hour, as the traffic was creating huge tidal waves which were flooding properties on the high street and west road. Then the calls started flooding in (excuse the pun) to name but a few, we rescued a broken down Town and Country Electrical van and delivered it back to billingborough. We took a man from Pointon to billingborough who literally got dumped off a bus when it refused to go any further. We fetched countless people who were stranded because their cars couldn't go through the deep water and delivered them back home to their families. We rescued our local Evri delivery driver's car which got swept into a ditch. The most serious one though, was when we rescued an adult and 4 really scared children out of a car in the Mareham lane ford where the water was up to the height of the car windows! With the water still rising that really was a potential life or death situation. Ian really did go above and beyond to help people he didn't even know in that situation. And that is what we are all about. Working well into the night, getting little sleep, then going to our day jobs today. Then tonight we get another call for this Transit Van. Finally now things have calmed down we actually remembered to take a photo π take care everyone. Please drop our page a like or a follow, you never know when you might need us π
