Because who wants an impressive power-to-weight ratio, a compact design that fits a range of engine rooms, and low fuel consumption?

And you definitely don’t want a MAN V8. Available in 1,000 hp, 1,200 hp and 1,300 hp, because who actually needs that much power in such a compact package?

And don’t even get us started on the hybrid option. Decarbonisation? Hardly something anyone’s talking about at the moment. 👀

Meet L’AMAZON, a 30ft Meeks of Marlow slipper launch.

This classic River Thames pleasure boat was built in fine mahogany and has been cruising the waterways since the 1930s, making her around 90 years old.

L’AMAZON serves as the Chairman’s Launch at Henley Royal Regatta, where she can be in use for up to six or seven days during the event.

Her engine is now with the PME team for a check-up and a couple of repairs, helping to make sure she’s running smoothly and ready for next year’s regatta.

Where do you appreciate an engine's power more: in the engine room or out on the water?

A pair of MAN V8-1200s power this Princess F58, and these photos give you a pretty good idea of what they can do.
They may not be the largest engines in the MAN range, but with 1,200 hp each, they certainly don't lack performance.
Compact, powerful and well suited to applications where weight and power distribution matter.

And, ultimately, there's only one place you really want to see that power... out on the water. 🌊

Last year at Seawork, we did things a little differently. We decided to host an Oktoberfest... in June. 🍻

It was such a huge success that we thought, let’s do it again, but bigger and better!
So, if you’re heading to Seawork this year, make sure our stand is on your list. The date and time will be announced on the Seawork portal, so keep your eyes peeled! 👀

Not many complaints from the PME team who headed over to NANNI France for some important training! 🇫🇷

There's a serious side to the trip, of course. Keeping our knowledge up to date means we're better equipped to support our customers, so the team spent some time at the NANNI Academy getting stuck into their latest training.

From technical and electrical training to practical work with the generators themselves, it was a great opportunity for the team to build their product knowledge and get a better understanding of the systems they'll be supporting here in the UK.

But when your training centre is on the west coast of France, the weather is this good and there's a swimming pool involved... we're not sure anyone was in too much of a hurry to come home. ☀️😂

We’re proud to have been recognised by JOSCAR for our sustainability efforts and progress. 🌱

Over the past few years, we’ve taken a number of steps to reduce our environmental impact, including installing LED lighting and solar panels and introducing electric vehicles.

The JOSCAR assessment has also encouraged us to look beyond our own operations, helping us identify further opportunities for improvement and consider the wider impact of our supply chain and the customers we work with.

We’re particularly proud to have been ranked in the top 10% for the Governance Pillar and top 25% overall, with several years of supporting data contributing to our assessment.

The marketing team asked for an influencer.

This was the best we could do. 😂

But behind the scenes, things are a little more serious.

Our workshop is currently home to some pretty impressive MAN marine engines, including the V12 and V12X. And while they might not be working the camera, they're certainly keeping our engineers busy.

From servicing and maintenance to major engine work, there's always something happening on the workshop floor.

Because someone has to look after the important stuff while we're busy making content. 🔧
