From the Logbook: 2016.
Digging through the Ullman archive, we came across these photos of the Moore 24 fleet from ten years ago — and there are quite a few familiar Ullman marks scattered through the fleet.
Among them is Moore 24 #68, Gruntled. In 2016, Bart Hackworth and the Gruntled team claimed the Moore 24 National Championship, part of an impressive run that saw the boat win four consecutive National titles from 2014 to 2017.
David Hodges, whose history with the Moore 24 stretches back decades, was also part of the championship-winning Gruntled campaign in 2015.
Fast forward ten years, and the Moore 24 has just celebrated its 50th anniversary back in Santa Cruz.
The class is still doing what it has done for five decades: bringing people together to race these little boats very, very hard.
And ten years after these archive photos were taken, it was pretty special to see an Ullman logo at the front of the fleet again, with Philippe Kahn and Pegasus #125 taking the 50th Anniversary National Championship.
Then: 2016. Now: 2026.
