Complaint: Flickering lights, car shutting down

Tests: Full system scan, tested battery, tested alternator, charging at 12.2v, load applied, drops to 11.8v.
Volt drop tests passed, when rpm raised, charges up at 13.7v
Thermal imaging camera shows it’s overheating, almost 200’c

2021 Mazda 3, vehicle completely dead, battery is fully charged, yet no ignition, no communication to any tools.
First step, desk diagnosis creating a test plan using genuine Mazda wiring diagrams. Fault was traced down to a headlight shorting out the communication lines to battery feed.
The cause was water ingress

Throttle signal too low

Engine light and epc light illuminated, wiring tested and all ok.

Throttle actuator removed, opened up and found a small solder had come off.

It’s all in the details

Both keys not being detected, keys have to be held near steering column to start

Key 1 battery had a sticker stuck on, so not making any contact with remote

Key 2 has been tampered, the pins that make contact with key batter have been damaged to previous attempts
