Here’s one of the biggest jobs this year.
I had Joe Nardini message me regarding his Octavia VRS heavily missfiring and running rough.
So I went out to take a look at it and ran a diagnostics.
There was a huge missfire in cylinder 1. I knew the spark plugs and coil packs had previously been replaced but I swapped them both with cylinder 2 to see if the fault moves or stay, and it stayed in cylinder 1. I checked all the wiring to cylinder 1 coil pack and everything was fine.
So decided to re run live data on the injectors and cylinder 1 injector was “open circuit”.
I was given more labour time to strip some parts down to access the injector plug, and the supply voltage to all cylinders was absolutely spot on, so I knew the wiring was fine and cylinder 1 injector was faulty.

I gave a few options:
1: just replace the 1 injector.
2: replace all 4.
3: replace all 4 injectors, replace the intake manifold gasket, clean out intake manifold, replace a fuel pipe as it was braking apart, replacing cylinder 1 injector that goes into the mani ( good safety measures), and a few more bits.
Joe decided to go for option 3, the full works package so he knows everything is hunky Dori.

Safe to say it was 1 long night stripping it down after doing a full day work, then a SUNDAY evening rebuilding it. But she fired up and missfire erased where as before it didn’t. Coolant re bled as had to remove a few houses.

Safe to say Joe Nardini is now a happy chap.

The other day we went out to do a full service on this 153K miles Vauxhall insignia. First thing I did was started the engine to see how it sounded, and the EML light was on and so was “service vehicle soon”. So I plugged in my scanner and ran a diagnostic and was getting codes for low boost. Opened the bonnet and instantly noticed one of the boost pipes had a large split in it, which causes boost leaks.
Gave the vehicle an inspection and the front pads were on 1mm which is dangerously and an MOT failure.

Another DANGEROUS issue I found was someone had fitted an OSF suspension arm and the bolt for the rear bush was completely loose… so of course I had to rectify this so the lady was safe on the road.

So I spoke to the customer and she asked if we leave the service for now, and sort these issues out.

So we will be back to repair these faults.

Today, me and my boy fitted coilovers and adjustable front links to Tim Speed Fiesta. He supplied all the parts, we just had to fit them and adjustable it to nice a nice low looking stance. Safe to say it wasn’t the fastest job due to some seized bolts, but we got the job done.

The other day I had my mums car in for a thermostat change, due to her driving and the temp gauge went to max, luckily the car was turned off immediately and then I got the car back home and replaced it the thermostat as it was stuck closed.
Once replaced, all bleed up and now regulating heat correctly and not over heating.

The other day I had polo gti in for both inner and outer track rods, oil and filter change and spark plus change.

The inner ties were both seized solid so just cut them off as replacing the anyway. Aligned it the best I could by eye then he took it to get tracked
