At first I was nervous with my driving lessons, but John Penny, my instructor, was excellent at teaching me all the basics, and making me feel much more confident behind the wheel. After my first lesson I couldn't wait to get in the car again, as I found all the lessons very fun. The quality from De-Novo has been nothing but exceptional, the whole time I was with them, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone who is new to driving. I started lessons when I was 17 and failed four tests over a 2 year period. I lost my confidence so therefore gave up driving. I moved cities and started driving lessons with De-Novo. My instructor John Penny was brilliant at re-educating me and restoring my confidence in driving. John is an excellent instructor and very thorough with explanations. I have really enjoyed my experience and I passed first time with John. He always puts 100% effort into helping me to improve my driving at all times. Not only did he prepare me for my test, but driving for the rest of my life. Great service and would recommend to everyone! I first went with another driving school and after my first lesson I came home and never wanted to learn to drive again as it was horrible. Then I started lessons with John Penny and I was fine. John Penny is a great driving instructor and very friendly who makes you feel relaxed and comfortable when learning to drive. I passed my driving test first time today with only 1 driving fault which was all because of the help of John. I would highly recommend John Penny to have lessons with as you won't be disappointed with the outcome. Well worth the money A***

I have just passed my driving test first time, which I am over the moon about. This is all down to having a great driving instructor. John is a very positive guy, who makes you feel relaxed and always encourages you to ask questions and makes you feel comfortable. He is also a very professional instructor, who always puts you first. John is very clear to understand and makes you feel confident. John always encourages you to take your driving to the next level through steady progression. I can't rate John Penny any higher if I tried. I had been looking forward to being able to drive for ages and taking a driving test but I had no idea where to start. There were plenty of schools about but I settled on this guy cos I definitely could not have done it without John's guidance, patience, and he had a good sense of humour! I could not believe it could be such an enjoyable experience and I felt the lessons were tailored perfect for me. He kept encouraging me to ask anything about anything to do with tests in the car or by phone and he was always there with a reply straight away. Glad he did because I passed first time. WOOHOOOOOO FINALLY PASSED!! After 2 bad instructors and 1 failed test with poor preparation and tuition I finally found John Penny at De-Novo, who got me over my driving fears, built my confidence and got me up to test standard! I passed my driving test first time with 3 faults with De-Novo. I found my tuition tailored to my specific needs and felt like I was learning to drive with a friend in a welcoming and professional environment. John Penny helped me get over my bad habits and poor driving ability due to previous bad instructors who only wanted to make money. At De-Novo they really care about your safety and every aspect of driving was explained. I myself needed to have a full driving licence to be able to pursue a career in the RAF and am also an impatient perfectionist and want to get things right first time and to the best standard. With De-Novo and John Penny I was able to do so and they really understood my needs! I would highly recommend to all as I have unfortunately experienced many bad instructors and its so nice to finally find a gem! I wish I had found De-Novo sooner! Before starting with De-Novo Driving Tuition I had been with a couple of other instructors/companies but never felt completely happy with the service I was getting. That all changed with De-Novo. Right from my first lesson I knew that this was the instructor and company for me. I had decided to go with De-Novo after reading the positive reviews on this website and from day one I could see why they come so highly recommended. My instructor was fantastic at helping me feel relaxed and giving me a confidence boost along the way, when it was needed. All I can say are positives about my experiences with De-Novo. They seem to really care about their pupils and their professionalism is clear to see. I wish I had started with them from the beginning and hadn’t wasted my time with other companies. After a few failed tests I was all but ready to give up on learning to drive. Deciding I'd spent too much time and money to give up, I opted to try a new driving instructor and met John Penny at De-Novo. This proved to be just what I needed, as I quickly realised that my previous instructors had not been providing me with good teaching. John is by far the best instructor I've had and it is because of him I passed my test. He is patient, positive, thorough and friendly, and really cares about providing the best tuition for his pupils. My name is Lisa. I learnt to drive through the AA and had two bad experiences with instructors either taking their responsibilities for granted and falling asleep while I'm driving, to completely overstepping his professional relationship and insulting my mum to turning up late to my lesson and stopping for ciggerette breaks. I didnt want to carry on learning with the AA so I changed to my third instructor (John Penny) He made me feel at ease, although he dressed more formal than my other driving instructors, I felt extremely comfortable in the car. John tested my driving ability and pushed me to the highest level of driving, he is very by the book and talks you through everything.
