So while I was at Penlee park today, my car was parked on Trewithen road (just off Alexandra road) and someone has hit my car (while leaving the space behind me I reckon) and just driven off!!! 😠😠😠😠
If anyone knows anything or happened to see anything please let me know. 🙏 It was between about 1pm-2pm

🚦 Rolling Through a Stop Sign? It Only Takes One Time.

I still see drivers treating STOP signs like GIVE WAY signs.

Slow down… quick glance… keep rolling.

The problem is, that’s not stopping.

A STOP sign is there for a reason. It usually means visibility is restricted or the junction has a history of collisions. If you keep the car moving, even slowly, you’re more likely to miss a cyclist, motorcyclist, pedestrian or a vehicle approaching from a direction you didn’t expect.

Stopping completely gives your brain time to catch up with what your eyes are seeing. It only takes a second, but that second could make all the difference.

For learner drivers, a rolling stop is also likely to result in a serious fault on your driving test because you haven’t complied with the road sign.

So next time you reach a STOP sign:

🚗 Stop completely.
👀 Look properly.
✅ Move off only when you’re certain it’s safe.

One second of patience is far better than a lifetime of regret.

Are You REALLY Test Ready? 🤔🚗

It's one of the most common questions driving instructors get.

The easiest way to find out? Ask yourself this...

Does your instructor, parent or supervising driver still:

❎️ Tell you when to change gear?
❎ ️Remind you to check your mirrors? 👀
❎ ️Tell you when it's safe to pull away?
❎ ️Explain road signs?
❎ ️Remind you of the speed limit?
❎️ Tell you to slow down or stop?
❎️ Help you correct your reverse manoeuvres?
❎️ Guide you through spiral roundabouts?
❎️ Help you merge onto dual carriageways?
❎️ Talk you through difficult junctions?
❎️ Help you with the sat nav?
❎️ Step in to keep you or others safe?...the list could go on!

If you answered yes to any of these, you're probably not fully ready yet.

Remember, the driving test isn't about being perfect. But it is a risk assessment about proving you can drive safely and make safe decisions independently without any HELP.

Passing by the smallest margin might get you a licence, but would you genuinely feel confident driving on your own the very next day?

We're driving a campaign success!

Good news from Transport Ministers that additional support will be given to Penzance Driving Test Centre, which has been operating at much lower capacity in recent years, contributing to long delays for the hundreds of learner drivers across west Cornwall.

Though a welcome step forward, I’ll be carefully monitoring if this makes any significant difference, and urging them to keep their foot on the accelerator and ensure this increased capacity is delivered as soon as possible. I’m grateful to and congratulate all the campaigners and the thousand+ petitioners who've kept up the pressure. It does make a difference!

(We must just hope the government's "process of deploying" is better than their spelling of Camborne! 🙄)

Something to be aware of from today 🚘

Changes to driving test booking happening today. ⚠️

From today (9 June), if you move your driving test, you can only move it to one of the 3 nearest test centres to where it's currently booked.

This is the remaining change we committed to make by the end of Spring 2026:

📅 31 March — test changes limited to 2 per booking

🔒 12 May — only learners can book, change or cancel their own test

📍 9 June — test moves limited to 3 nearest centres

Since 12 May, we've suspended 3605 accounts for breaking the rules and reported apps to app stores for removal. We're not stopping there.

Big Congratulations to Eleanor for passing her test today first time at Pz test centre. 🚘
Eleanor has been putting in the practice in her own car between lessons and now can save herself the bus journeys to and fro college.
