When securing your vehicle, there are a few payments that will need to be made as part of your booking along with the hire charge.
We take a £50 deposit to secure the requested vehicle at the time of booking. This deposit is taken from the overall hire fee, leaving the remainder (if any) to pay instore when collecting the vehicle.
A pre-authorised holding deposit of £250 is taken at the time of collecting the keys. This holding deposit is a temporary charge placed on your payment card by us, the rental company. It acts as financial security in case of vehicle damage, traffic fines, missing fuel, or additional rental days.
How It Works
Pre-Authorisation: For credit cards, we place a 'block' or pre-authorisation so you cannot spend those funds, rather than taking the money upfront.
Debit Cards: For debit cards, the amount is directly deducted from your bank account and later refunded, within timescales determined by your bank, after the safe return of the vehicle.
Refundability: If the vehicle is returned on time, with a full tank (if applicable), and in the same condition you received it, the deposit is fully returned or released.
