MoT Tester, with CURRENT mot licence and up-to-date Cpd. Covering Class 4 & 7, ideally class 5 but not essential.

MOT Failure… we had this Kia Ceed in for MOT which failed due to the passenger side, side light. As you can see from the first picture. The LED is very dim, normally we would recommend a headlamp replacement as headlamps aren’t “usually” repairable. The headlamp wasn’t available after market but rather only from KIA themselves! The cost of the headlamp alone was in excess of £400! We managed to remove the headlamp, diagnose the failed item (in this case the DLR circuit board) gain access, we used a dremel multi tool to cut the plastic as they are a sealed unit, replaced the failed component and sealed the opening (underneath the headlamp)with hot glue to create a waterproof seal. Returning the headlamp to perfect working order, at a fraction of the cost of a replacement headlamp.

Ps this repair isn’t always available for all headlamp failures, but we will always try and help our customers where possible.
