⚡️ MINI Electric Diagnostic: Tackling Fault Code 040f02 ⚡️
Electric vehicle diagnostics require a completely different approach to traditional petrol or diesel cars. This week in the workshop, we had a MINI Cooper SE (MINI E) come in with an amber warning light and some system efficiency alerts on the dash.
Our specialized EV diagnostic software quickly picked up factory fault code 040f02.
In the MINI E, the electric heater unit does more than just regulate temperature; it is a key component tied directly into the vehicle's electrical infrastructure and thermal management system. When the unit draws incorrect current or experiences an internal component malfunction, the vehicle's central computer triggers fault 040f02 to protect the surrounding electronics.
The Fix:
Our EV-certified technicians safely powered down the system, carried out circuit testing, and replaced the malfunctioning electric heater unit. After executing a full module adaptation and clearing the fault codes, the MINI passed all its system health checks and is back to 100% operational efficiency!
🔋 Driving an EV? Electrical faults on modern electric vehicles require specialized training, specific safety gear, and dedicated diagnostic tools to resolve correctly.
If your MINI Electric is throwing dashboard warnings or performance alerts, don't just clear the codes—let an expert get to the root cause.
