There’s plenty to discover between Oxford and Aynho. 🚤🌿

Cruise through the beautiful Cherwell Valley, passing Thrupp, Kirtlington, Lower and Upper Heyford before reaching the apricot village of Aynho.

There’s plenty to explore beyond the towpath too.

From Thrupp, head to Woodstock and visit Blenheim Palace. From Lower Heyford, hop on a train to Banbury or explore further afield.

And when you reach Aynho, stop at the Great Western Arms or enjoy coffee and something tasty from the Horsebox Coffee Company.

Or forget the itinerary altogether. Find a country pub, take a long walk and simply enjoy having nowhere you need to rush to.

There’s still so much to look forward to on the Oxford Canal this summer. 🚤☀️

We know there have been questions around the current canal situation, so we wanted to focus on everything you can still enjoy.

The Oxford Canal is open from Oxford to Aynho, offering a beautiful, gentle week’s cruise through the Cherwell Valley.

Think leisurely breakfasts on board, a few hours cruising, a walk to a country pub for lunch, perhaps an afternoon snooze, followed by dinner back on board.

Your route may need a little rethink, but your boat hasn’t changed, and neither has the opportunity to enjoy a unique break away from it all.
