All bikes sold are thoroughly gone through in our workshop and any issues found are rectified regardless of margins and profits. We want you to get a bike that is right, and a bike and service which we ourselves would want to receive when purchasing a new bike. Along with bikes sales, Not Your Average Bikes also incorporates a full workshop facility where we can carry out any work necessary, from basic bike servicing, repairs, customization and modification, and even restoration. A little bit about us.......

NYA Bikes… (Not Your Average Bikes)

…started as a vision of our owner, Jon, who was tired of modern bikes all being very much the same in performance and styling from one year to the next. Gone now are the days of the iconic styled bikes such as the ZXR with its “hoover pipes” and twin headlights, the old Fireblade’s with their “cheese grater” front fairing, or the sweet sounding and smelling 2-stroke bikes of the 70’s and 80’s. He wanted to have something different from the norm. Not necessarily a classic, not necessarily a sports bike or a chopper or rat bike, but just something that was different that was all. He struggled to find any showroom that wasn’t either a sports bike specialist, a classic bike specialist, a main dealer, or perhaps a used Harley specialist. So he started Not Your Average Bikes. All the bikes are personally chosen by Jon and are all bikes he personally would like to own himself, meaning he genuinely does have a passion for the bikes we are selling.

In 2017 Not Your Average Bikes moved into their new premises and created a new showroom. Also partnering up with JD Motorcycles to create a new workshop. This then extended to the Rent-A-Bench service which we now offer; something which is unique to the area and which offers you the opportunity to come and use our benches and tools and carry out work on your own bike while knowing help is on hand if needed.

Along with the bike sales, workshop, and Rent-A-Bench service, Not Your Average Bikes also offers secure long and short term storage for your bike(s), whether that be storing your winter/summer bike, your track bike, or your personal bike collection, we have services and tariffs to suit, from basic storage to top of the line temperature and humidity controlled cocoon storage.
