Another day.. another , " it just needs the light knocked off for test " 😆

This VW owner , like so many vehucle owners, was led to believe that a " plug in" , was going to cure his engine management light , a few hours before MOT.

What makes this situation worse , as in this situation , is that this person's mechanic , had advised them thats all that was needed , after having their own diagnostic tool used on the car.

This situation creates even more confusion and trust issues , with garages and customers, in an already difficult sector .

When a fault code presents itself as an open circuit scenario, it needs challenged.

This requires time, tools and effort . Not just a "plug in".

This tends to lead to tension with the customer as they have been primed to think it will be a quick , cheap job , as a mechanic they trust , has told them otherwise.

When you explain what has been found, the doubt sets in, as if they are being scammed 😄

" But my man says it just needed reset?"

" He said his computer couldn't clear it and yours would ?"

Oh it will clear it alright, it just needs the important part of fixing the cause of it , first 😆
