Pure-tech 1.0 - 1.2 Piston ring replacement 👨🏻‍🔧

Piston ring wear on these engines is a super common issue!

If you own a vehicle with the 1.0 or 1.2 PureTech engine, here's what to look out for: increased oil consumption, usually followed by blue smoke emitting from the exhaust pipe. This is a strong indication you have worn piston rings.

Everything is fixable, but the longer your engine burns oil, the more knock-on effects can occur, including:
- Catalyst damage
- Lower engine compression
- Cylinder wall damage
- Loss of power

First job of 2026! Who'd have guessed it would be a wet belt replacement? 😅

This Vauxhall Crossland was in desperate need of mechanical attention 🔧.

The wet timing belt had degraded so badly that it was affecting oil pressure due to the oil pump feed/strainer blocking up with wet belt particles 🫣.

This is a super common issue on the PSA 1.2 PureTech engine. The car had only covered 40,000 miles and wasn't far from a huge engine disaster!

We specialise in these types of repairs, so if you or anyone you know is having wet belt issues, we're the guys to help. Important announcement ! 📣

We have officially moved to our new location on the forge industrial estate literally 200-300 yards distance from our old location🏡

Today’s antics involved a Mercedes Citan with a failed timing belt tensioner causing servere internal engine damage.

Not to worry though 🤩 In the new year we will have this vehicle up and running like nothing ever happend ready for work again in January 👌

Ford Transit Wet Belt Specialist Blue Bird Motorcare 🐦

This van had suffered major oil deterioration causing the wet timing belt to suffer thus damaging the engine oil pump and vacuum pump causing the brakes to fail almost completely 😳

This van was quoted for a complete engine replacement elsewhere!

We managed to repair the vehicle in house saving the customer £1000’s in repairs 💰

Another job complete and another happy customer with a reliable van ready for work again in the morning 👌
