POWER AC CLEAN:
We are now able to offer a new service. We can offer a cleaning service for the Air Con system in your vehicle.
The process cleans the Air Conditioning System by decontaminating it without the removal of parts or cabin filters. The Forte power clean AC bacteria and odour remover has been formulated to kill 99.9% of all bacteria and microbial growth in air conditioning systems and remove the associated bad odours. it also removes all bacteria within the vehicle's cabin by sanitising all surface areas of the vehicle.
Various bacteria that are eliminated also includes - SARS - Cov-2 (COVID 19)

Updated information on MOTing your vehicle:
The DVSA has decided to cease giving 6 months grace on your MOT test. The grace period will carry on up until 31st July, then from the 1st August, the MOT system will revert back to normal (as before lockdown).
Up until the 31st July the grace period will still be available.

Something to consider, in October and the ensuing months up to Feb 2021 the MOT stations throughout the UK will not only have those months MOTs to deal with but also all the vehicles with 6 months grace as well which their systems may not be able to handle (there are over 5 million vehicles that have taken the grace period and it's increasing).

Some information for those thinking of buying or selling a car: (PLEASE SHARE)
If you were selling your phone, laptop or any tech you would delete all of your contacts, photos, apps, etc.
Right?
So why would you not from your car…
An alarmingly high number of people forget to delete sensitive/personal details from their cars. Pairing your phone to your car is easy. It downloads contacts and messages, you can also give the car permission to use your phones internet connection.
If you have synced a phone to a car using Bluetooth or USB, information such as messages, addresses, wi-fi details and more could be transferred to the car and seen by the next owner. This can be wiped and the unit/system put back to the factory settings by following the instructions in the car's manual.
This also applies when you buy a vehicle. You should check there is no data in the system. It’s been possible for former owners to track the car's location, unlock the doors or even start the engine by using an app. SCARY!!!
What You Need To Do:
You need to go into your cars infotainment system, look for settings and erase all accounts and data. Check the manual if you can’t find it easily or call the manufacturer's customer services.
You need to break the link between the phone and car. This is done in the cars infotainment system NOT your phone
NOTE: if this information is not removed from the unit, it stays in the system even if the set is removed from the car (like any computer).

F. J. Glass Update: (Please share)
Questions about the MOT extensions answered –
Everyone is getting 6 months grace added to their vehicles MOT providing the MOT expiry date is after the 30th March 2020 prior to this date vehicles must be tested. This MOT extension is automatically added about Seven days before the original expiry date. This can be checked by going online to https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-status or ring DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) on 0300 1239000 choose option 2 then option 2 again. If it has not been added three days before the MOT due date you need to email [email protected] or call the DVSA on the number above.
• Unless told differently the six-month extension will be in effect until 30th March 2021.
Note: You only get one extension, for example, if you're MOT runs out on the 10th July 2020 you will need to sort out your vehicles actual MOT before 10th January 2021.
During this extension period, it is a requirement to make sure your vehicle, as always, is kept in a safe and roadworthy condition. Vehicles can be stopped and action may be taken against them if this is not done.
Vehicles can be MOT’d at any time during this extension period and the pass certificate is dated with the date of that test but if the vehicle fails the test the extension/grace period automatically ceases and the vehicle will be without a valid certificate.
• Don't get confused with the DVSA and DVLA (Driver Vehicle Licencing Agency)
• There is no extension on vehicle road tax
We hope this clears up any confusion

Message from Steve;

If anybody has any information on the damage being inflicted by some mindless moron on my vehicles I would appreciate hearing about it, so i can pass it on to the police.

Thanks

Update on F.J.Glass activities:
First we would like to answer a common question: why are we still open? That's easy, amongst the vehicles we have repaired/MOT'd, over the last week, 4 of them belonged to carers, 1 to a nurse and also included were delivery vehicles. Obviously these vehicles are critical to the people concerned and to keep vital services going.
So, business is a usual, but if you have trouble contacting us, (find our doors are shut or can't get in contact via our work-phone) then you can call Steve on 07966182714 to make arrangements - This includes repairs, MOTs, Breakdowns, recovery etc.
Thank you for every-bodies patience and also a big thank you to all our suppliers who without them we can't operate. (parts are becoming more and more difficult to obtain).
Remember if you can't get your vehicle to us we can collect and deliver (within reason)

Thank you everyone and Stay safe
Regards from all the team at F J Glass

F.J.Glass at the moment is still open for business due to being an MOT test station. We are carrying out repairs to peoples vehicles, especially for key workers and emergency services. The Government has now introduced a 6 month rolling extension on MOT due dates, but vehicles still need to be kept in a safe and roadworthy condition. We are still MOTing vehicles at the moment. We operate a system for people who don't want to leave their homes (and risk contact) to bring a vehicle in, we will collect (within reason) and wipe the vehicle down before we deliver it back.
We are operating to Government guidelines as regards contact and until things alter and we are told anything different business is as usual.
