A cruise control retrofit on a **Volkswagen T6 California** gets a lot more involved when the van left the factory with no front radar 🔧🚐⚙️

This 2017 T6 California came in factory-fitted without cruise control and without a front radar.

So this was not just a case of activating and retrofitting cruise control. We also upgraded it with a brand-new front radar.

It is quite a complex project and needs a lot of parts fitted properly:
✔️ New radar
✔️ New mounting brackets
✔️ New crash bar
✔️ New front grille

The wiring was also run properly into the vehicle and completed to the correct wiring diagram 🛠️

One detail not everyone knows about is CAN bus security. You should not leave an accessible live CAN connection in areas such as the radar or mirrors, because it can potentially be used to gain access to the vehicle network and, in the wrong hands, assist with key cloning and vehicle theft.

A proper **Volkswagen steering wheel** retrim is nothing like fitting a £20 cover at home 🔧🛞🇬🇧

Every one of these starts as a genuine Volkswagen steering wheel, then gets retrimmed here in the UK and finished in genuine leather, not synthetic material.

There are plenty of steering wheels on the market at different prices. Many of the ones you see on eBay, although not all of them, are imported from China. And I’m not even comparing these to the DIY covers that often appear on Facebook.

The detail that matters is in the leather joins.

✔️ No lumps
✔️ No thick raised sections
✔️ Joined leather properly hidden inside specially cut grooves in the original rubber of the steering wheel

That finish takes proper work, and you simply cannot achieve the same result with a cheap cover fitted at home. Those covers can still look better than a plain plastic steering wheel, but it is worth understanding why a properly retrimmed wheel costs more.

A Transporter T6 with the right mix of upgrades is hard to fault 🚐🔧📷

This one has had an **Alpine Halo 9** fitted, and it sits really well on the dashboard. It looks great, it’s a nice bit of kit, and a great upgrade for your speakers.

It did not stop there either:

⚪ Genuine leather steering wheel retrimmed
⚪ Adaptive Cruise Control activated
⚪ Grey stitching, which looks really good against the white van
⚪ Rear view camera added, because why not 😄

Also worth mentioning, the steering wheel retrim is genuine leather and, for a change, did not come from China like many of the ones you see on eBay.

A towbar retrofit only wants doing once, so it needs fitting and coding properly 🔧🚐⚙️

This **Volkswagen T6** came in looking great in blue, which is still one of my favourite colours.

For this one, we fitted:
🔵 Detachable towbar
🔵 13-pin electrics
🔵 Everything coded properly as it should be

Simple job on paper, but the important part is making sure the electrical side is done correctly and the coding is carried out properly, not just bolted on and sent out the door 🛠️

Getting the cables right is the part most people underestimate on a **Wolfbox mirror** install 🔧🚐📷

This **Toyota Estima 8-seater**, imported from Japan, came in for a Wolfbox mirror installation with a reversing camera and front dashcam.

The kit itself is only part of the job. The real challenge is routing cables through the vehicle properly, especially on something like this, where you want the finished install to be neat, reliable and done the right way rather than just tucked in wherever they fit 🛠️⚙️

A small change can make a massive difference on the right car 👌🚗

This **Audi Q2 2024 dynamic mirror indicators** job was a supply and fit, and the end result really changes the look of the car.

These are aftermarket mirror indicators with dynamic indices, fitted in place of the standard units. Nothing over the top, just a neat upgrade that gives the Q2 a much cooler look once done 🛠️⚙️
