Piston Ring Youth Motorcycle Display Team was run as a not-for-profit organisation for over 30 years. It was run by volunteers who give up their time to ensure the riders were looked after, as well as making sure they looked after the bikes! Things have been rather quiet recently which is to be expected with all the disruption owing to the dreaded lurgi etc. However this site is still attracting attention and the enquires as to where there is a similar display team /mo/bike club that youngsters can join. I am still in a position to advise if anyone wanted to start a new one but as I tip 82 next month that's about all. Remember it doesn't have to be the full works straight away as I have mentioned before, I am a great believer in small starts. There are motocross clubs with young sections but no display teams like the Piston Rings apart from down South. Anyway, enjoy the pictures.
I am still active at the Staffordshire Regiment Museum where I refurbish the vehicles. It was really good to see Paul Boffin and his lady there last year.

Another youngster first time on a mo/bike pottering around on grass. He is James as well. James on the James.

still saving pictures bike wise from one time members. It's now over five years since the display team was active but contributions still invited. Remember, all past members and supporters plus others who have liked this site are now of an age when they could consider starting a similar club in their own area. It doesn't have to happen all at once, and it doesn't have to be exactly the same as this old club. I remain a great believer in small beginnings. If interested, there are the 'Imps' and the 'Tigers' both youth motorcycle display teams worth looking at.

Turns out Cy was at the NEC last w/end riding that indoor course. Said it was the hardest thing he had done to date. Yes, that must have taken some doing. Finished 8th. Saved the 'vid' but must find out how to load it.
