Nottingham Castle Waterside & Marina The Marina is located in the heart of Nottingham just behind Castle Boulevard. Pumpout and Elsan disposal facilities are also available.

The Marina is located within walking distance of the centre of Nottingham and it's wide variety of restaurants, supermarkets, large retail parks and local tourist attractions, yet provides remarkable peace and tranquility. Nottingham Castle Waterside & Marina is located on the short stretch of the Nottingham Canal, that along with the Beeston Cut forms part of the Trent Navigation, giving access t

o the whole waterways network. The Marina incorporates 200 moorings for class 1 (high usage) and class 2 (leisure) boaters and prides itself in providing a clean, safe and secure site for all types of narrowbeam craft. We have a well stocked Chandlery on site which apart from boat building and maintenance goods, supplies diesel, Calor gas and smokeless fuel. Due to our unique location we have zero risk of flooding which is often associated with river moorings. All the pontoons are fixed giving extra stability and have either metered or token electricity supply, water supply and some have terrestrial TV sockets. The pontoons are well lit at night for security and safe passage.

✨Week 10 Update✨

🛥 Katie, Danny & Lea have been helping our moorers move their boats from the middle of the marina in preparation for the old pontoons to be removed starting next week. Thank you to everyone who helped with the moves and providing treats to keep the team going.

🦢 The mural artist has finished transforming the blank space under the bridge and the wall to the rear of the hub/summer house garden. It has really brightened up the marina.

🚽 The new Elsan has been fitted by the facilities block.

🛠 The community lounge has been cleared out with some existing furniture staying and new additional furniture arriving in the next couple of weeks. The makeover continues next week with a lick of paint and new floor tiles.

⭐️ The old gate to the towpath has been replaced and fence extended adding extra security to the marina.

Everywhere we look changes are taking place. It is crazy to see how much water space there is now the boats have moved, it's safe to say everyone is excited for what is coming next! 😁

✨Week 9 gives you a look at our new facilities ✨

🚿Four new fully equipped ensuite shower rooms were opened today. They are bright and modern with everything our moorers need. There’s also a separate fully accessible shower room.

🐶 Our new dog wash is all ready for our furry friends.

🚽 Next week brings a new Elsan with exterior handwashing facilities.

🪴The area to the front of the building has been cleared and gravel laid ready for pots and planters .. a new seating area to sit and watch the world go by 👀

⭐️Next week we continue with the community hub, the summer house, the customers lounge (what ever you choose to call it). We now have everything we need to start and finish the makeover.

🦢 The mural artist will continue transforming blank spaces… and moving onto the wall to the rear of the hub/summer house garden.

Everywhere we look changes are taking place. There are so many more changes to come and we cannot wait to share them with you over the next few weeks.

We’re making murals this week🎨

Our investment in the marina isn’t just about improving pontoons and facilities - it’s about creating an environment that truly reflects the community of people who live and spend their leisure time here.

Last year, we started working with talented local artist Elliott to design and draw some unique, large-format artworks especially for our marina.

Elliott has produced murals and signage for pubs, breweries, cafés, festivals and restaurants across Nottinghamshire, and is known for eye-catching work that complements the character of each space. When we discovered he’d previously painted narrowboats and has a passion for traditional hand-painted typography, we knew he’d be the perfect fit.

And this week, you’ll start to see our Nottingham Castle Wall Art Project taking shape, across 3 different locations at the marina.

✨Week 8 update ✨

Week 8 brought some sunshine, a welcome change from the rain for our hard working contractors.

🚿The facilities are almost complete, and they look fantastic. We cannot wait to show you the finished look.

🏠 The communal hub has its doors replaced, and we started work clearing the space ready for its makeover over the next week or so.

🚤 G pontoon repairs are almost done with the last of the fingers being repaired followed by the main jetty next week.

🖼️ The boards have been put in place ready for our street artist to come and work his magic next week.

🎉 Work started clearing the back workshop and office. All will be revealed soon 🔜

Another busy week of progress.

🚿 The facilities are looking great. They are well on track for completion. The floors, toilets, sinks and shower screens are all now in.

⭐️ The area where the new leisure storage sheds will go is now clear and the new fence looks great. A few more panels, a new gate and then the leisure sheds which are already built will arrive.

🔧 G pontoon is proving a challenge in the wind and rain but work continues to get the framework ready for the new Duradeck.

🎉Lea is clearing away the old, making way for the new. It’s surprising just how much you find! Danny is building the new Residential storage boxes, fitting blinds and lots more.

⚓️Boat moves started this week and will continue now until all the pontoon work is complete. The planning and preparation that goes into ensuring that each of our customers experience as little disruption as possible over the next few weeks is a full time job in itself. Katie and Paula are continually reviewing and changing these as the weather and G pontoon continue to throw us some curve balls.

This week we thought we'd try something new........ instead of just showing photos, we wanted to take you on a walk around the marina to see what's been going on! 😍😍

🪏 Trenches are filled and now the gravel can be compacted down

🏚️ All the old leisure sheds & derelict fences are gone, clearing the way for the new replacements & all the old wood will be recycled

🪚 Residential boxes are starting to arrive on site ready for Danny to build in the new locations on the marina

🛠️ Works have begun on G Pontoon with the new floating pontoons being built off site as we speak!

🛁New doors on the facilities block & on track for completion

🐕New dog wash area in progress!

Here’s the roundup from this week. Every day we’re seeing lots of progress.

🗃️ Danny continues with the demolition of the old storage boxes. New ones are arriving in March which our leisure berth holders will be able to hire.

🚜 Ground works continue with new gravel laid once each section is completed.

🚿Works in the new shower rooms continue and this week we have installed the new external doors which look great. The second phase is almost complete and we now have shower trays .. no water yet though 👌

🔧 Works continue preparing some of the existing pontoons ready for the new Duradeck installation.

🪢 Our new marina map is now on display in the office and shows the new pontoon layout and which berths are still available.

We have both Residential and Leisure moorings for sale - available from 1st April - but they are going fast, so don’t hesitate to give us a call and we can talk you through your options 📞
