Jaguar has officially named the production version of its all-electric flagship the Type 01, evolving the polarizing Type 00 concept from December 2024 into a four-door luxury GT with over 1,000 horsepower, around 430 miles of WLTP range (roughly 400 miles EPA), and an expected price somewhere around $130K based on Jaguar's positioning. The Type 01 sits on Jaguar's bespoke 800V Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA) with 350 kW peak fast charging that adds up to 200 miles of range in 15 minutes, paired with a 120 kWh battery, tri-motor setup, and 959 pound-feet of torque. Engineering targets include the stiffest Jaguar to date at 50,000 Nm/degree of torsional rigidity and a sub-0.25 drag coefficient, with 23-inch wheels as standard and a low coupe-like silhouette closer to an Aston Martin Rapide than a 7 Series. Jaguar is positioning the Type 01 against Bentley rather than BMW, completing the brand reset that the "00" naming signaled in the concept and the "01" now formalizes as the first car of the all-electric era. For Tesla, the Type 01 lands squarely in Model S Plaid and Signature Edition territory on power and range, while leaning on a more advanced 800V platform than Tesla's 400V architecture and 350 kW charging that nominally outpaces today's V3 Supercharger peak.
