It turns out Tamiya is one of those things that never really leaves you… 🏁

I’ve started noticing just how many of my friends and customers all shared the same childhood obsession — Tamiya radio-controlled cars.

The Tamiya sticker on my electric Buzz was originally just a bit of an ironic joke, but it’s sparked loads of conversations about the “good old days”… and something I hadn’t quite appreciated:

A LOT of us are still at it! 😂

Still building them.
Still collecting them.
Still racing them.
Still searching eBay for that elusive part we know we used to have somewhere! 🤣

And what better year for all this nostalgia, with Tamiya celebrating 50 years and putting on a fantastic display at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

So here’s my 1980s Tamiya Holiday Buggy.

It’s pretty much period-correct… apart from the bodyshell for now. 😉

If you ever owned one, you’ll know exactly why these things are so special.

Well it seems silly season has arrived again, Getting people to leave negative reviews is a bit pathetic so is paying for thousands of reviews and then bragging how many you’ve got. Anyway here’s a before and after of a Hyundai I30N I had to rectify after “the best in the East Midlands” “repaired” it. I’ve got plenty more.

Popped out to look at this one yesterday. Morris Traveller that got caught in a hail storm in France. Luckily it only got hit 4 times. As the car has been painted and the headlining can’t come out there’s only 2 options Hot Glue or Cold glue. So I tried the cold glue first and managed to lift them a little bit but the roof skin is aluminum and was too tough. So with the risk to the paint using hot glue we’ve decided to leave it until September after all the customers shows are finished so if the paint does come off can work their magic in it with a conventional repair.
