2019 Lamborghini Aventador SVJ LP 770-4
The Aventador SVJ is a car that’s dictated by numbers, some big, some small, but numbers that can’t possibly tell the whole story either.
In 2018 when Lamborghini unveiled their latest V12 flagship, it wasn’t about the +20bhp it had above the Aventador SV it replaced, it wasn’t the +40% greater downforce it added, nor the -50kg it saved over the standard Aventador model, it wasn’t even the limited run of 900 cars they would be building worldwide,
It was about the 6:44.97 time it travelled around the Nürburgring as it obliterated the production car lap record, it was about the -15 seconds quicker it did that compared to the SV and, for anyone privileged enough to experience this car being used in anger, it is now still very much about that 8,700rpm redline that will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up every time you think about it…
