The owner of this 1950's Bristol 403 wanted the colour changed from black back to its original factory finished Green, the bodywork was chemically stripped by hand back to its aluminium shell, when Bristol first built these they skimmed the entire shell with a fine layer of filler then hand sanded to perfect the body shape, once the shell was stripped back filler was applied and again we had to hand sand to perfect the shape, the vehicle was then sprayed using sprayable filler and hand sanded for the final body contouring. Undercoat was applied then wet flatted. Finally 3 coats of base coat and 3 coats of lacquer were applied. and it took another 60 hours to wet flat and machine polish the vehicle to bring it back to its former glory.

Relocating to new premises is never easy, so preparing the workshop with several ongoing projects and customer work was quite a challenge, however, one of the fun projects was to complete the Combo. we were gifted an ex GPO van with a broken diesel engine! using a donor Corsa 1.2 (petrol) the diesel engine was removed and replaced with the petrol engine, the donor cars complete wiring harness was then transferred together with the petrol tank fuel and emission lines, the front and rear suspension was overhauled, all new brake drums and discs, suspension was lowered and refurbished 17 inch alloys fitted. Then the repaint! from start to finish it took 2 years working on the van as and when. Great fun though.
