GT CUP 100 💯🏁🏆 PODIUM

The only thing predictable about the GT Cup Championship’s season opener? That it was, at times, completely UNpredictable.

A sterling effort from the squad got us to the East Midlands circuit for the brace of endurance races at Donington Park, where rookies Ben Taylor and Charlie Benson put in a spirited performance to come away with a podium finish in class after 150 minutes of racing across the two days.

Bad luck hit our Ginetta G56 in Saturday’s race, but it all turned around in wet and wild conditions in Sunday’s 100-minute contest. Despite a misted windscreen making life tougher than hoped for Ben, he and Charlie charged forward to seal a third place in Group GTH and our first piece of silverware.

Just 0.031s separated us from what was almost a special pole position on Sunday too, giving us plenty to shout about ahead of the rest of the season ahead!

Smiles all round for the Elan 26R team

Today saw 24-7's first race of 2026 and the first time we have raced John's gorgeous Elan that's had a full nut and bolt build since last year

Qualifying went as well as we could have hoped for seeing the 166 Elan finishing 4th as the flag dropped
A debrief and plan was formed to start with and swap to at the stop.

Stu got stuck in from lights out and took the fight to the faster cobras swapping places for first and second over the first few laps before setting into a very competitive pace just behind the lead car.

The team had planned a stop but seeing a gap in traffic and knowing John had the pace we boxed the car for a perfect stop meaning John exited the pits with a near 50 second lead over the next chasing car.

John navigated the traffic like a pro and kept the leading Cobras honest, reeling them in on the slower tighter parts of the circuit but losing out on the big power straights.

As the chequered flag waved John finished 3rd overall and 1st in class 👏

What a great day and we get to do it all over again tomorrow
