italicar is a small family business, run by brothers Luke and Kirk Miller. Our father managed a successful Alfa Romeo and Fiat main dealership throughout the 80s and 90s, so neither of us grew up wanting to be train-drivers! With the soundtrack of our early years provided by a symphony of Lampredi twin-cams and Busso V6s, we were powerless to escape the obsession. Our family car history reads like a Top Trumps' pack of Italian automotive history; Alfa Romeo GTAs, 155s, Spiders, GTVs, Fiat 124s, Coupes, Barchettas, a Lancia Delta HF integrale and many, many more. Even if we weren't working with Italian cars for a living, we'd still be buying them! Now the weather has gone fully autumnal, we're seeing an increase in bookings for our rust proofing services.

Here you can see a 50/50 (driver's side treated, passenger side not touched) with Lanoguard, one of the processes we use. Made in the UK, it's an innovative sealant made from lanolin, the wax which keeps sheeps' wool waterproof. Great results, but does leave the workshop smelling like a farm for a while after!

Public service announcement: after our recent break, we've decided on a radical change to our business model.

While on holiday in Tenerife, we visited Dolce Vita boats, enjoying a leisurely jaunt out in their Fiat 500 boats before letting rip in the 300bhp Abarth version.

After that, sorry but we're no longer italicar 🚗 but italiBOAT 🚤 instead 😂.

Honestly though, these things are awesome. Officially licensed by Fiat with great attention to detail. Highly recommend!

And that's the italicar doors shut for a while - we're off on holiday until the week beginning 26th October.

We post a lot of pictures of Fiat Coupes, and here's another one we're working on.... sorry, not sorry.

Why has this one got our interest piqued? It's a 16V Turbo!

That alone is enough to get our pulses going (Kirk in particular who thinks the Coupe lost its way in the 20V era 🙄). But beyond that it's also been owned by one family since new and is completely unmodified bar a stainless exhaust system, still on its original dealer plates.

What a superb car.

While fitting a clutch to this much loved Panda 100HP earlier this week, we were wondering just when they're going to be recognised as a modern classic?

I think everyone knows how brilliant they are, but their values dropped to £3k-£4k pretty quickly and there they've sat ever since.

If we had a crystal ball and tried to predict a car that is still relatively easy to buy right now, affordable and easy to live with but might also increase in collectability and value over the next 5-10 years...we'd say the 100HP has as good a chance as any.

*Once the F1 is finished, the rest of our Sunday might be spent scouring the classifieds for an original, unmodified, low mileage one...

The GTV Cup is a very special model for us here at italicar.

Over the years we've owned a few (can't actually remember how many off the top of my head!) and worked on several more of the 155 RHD examples built. This one is back with us for a timing belt 5 years since we carried out a complete overhaul, and it is still a stunner.

The ultimate iteration of the 916 era? It makes a strong case...
