Is there anything better than getting car parts? Have been waiting a long time for this front bumper to arrive but now it's here I couldn't be happier.

Few scuff marks on the front sadly but we can get that sorted before giving it a nice coat of paint. Can't wait to get it fitted!

Managed to find some time to get back to work on the race car. A rounded bolt on the water pump put up a fight but won in the end.

Removed oil pump and lines, thermostat housing, wiring harness and bracket, water pump and few other bits.

Stripped everything off with the exception of the front pulley and flywheel (I tried but, not go without more leverage)

Still, feels good to make progress again.

Rebuilt both the front calipers today. Plenty of time spent getting rid of rust! Still not 100% happy with them but we ran out of time. I shall take them back off in the future for painting but this will have to do for now.

Well that lasted long. Was enjoying the braps when my front right caliper seizes tight just a few miles from home....F....

What's more annoying is I have a caliper rebuild kit at home....

Not the race car, but the summer toy got some treats today with a much needed new exhaust system! Didn't take long and that loud rattlebox was back to sounded absolutely beautiful!

Will be giving her a full service front to back in the coming months as we rebuild the race car as well.

This is the dream. Gotta love a 3 rotor. Used to love watching them on TV when they competed in the IMSA series (they were rx8s though not rx7s)

Well that wasn't stressful at all! Engine mounts put up a fight but we eventually got the engine at last.

Now we begin the real work and take the subframes off to attend to the chassis. Before rebuilding the engine and implementing our upgrades.

Had to evict the summer toy to make room for the engine. She'll have to sit outside for a bit while we fix her twin 😂
