🔧 Wet Belt Replacement Specialists 🔧
We’ve recently completed yet another wet belt replacement, this time on a Ford Ranger, and thought it was a good opportunity to highlight just how important these belts are.
Manufacturer replacement intervals have changed over the years depending on make, model and engine, but across the trade there is now a strong consensus that waiting until the maximum recommended interval can be a costly gamble.
Our recommendation is simple:
✅ Replace the wet belt at 6 years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first.
Wet belts run inside the engine oil and can deteriorate over time. As they break down, debris can contaminate the oil system, block oil pick ups and potentially lead to catastrophic engine damage. We’ve seen vehicles showing significant belt wear well before the official replacement interval.
While replacing a wet belt isn’t a small job, it is considerably cheaper than replacing an engine.
At Cambrian Cars & Commercials, we have the expertise, equipment and experience to carry out wet belt replacements correctly. In fact, any Ford vehicle we retail that is approaching our recommended interval will have the wet belt replaced as part of our preparation process, giving our customers complete peace of mind.
We carry out wet belt replacements on a wide range of vehicles including Ford, Vauxhall, Peugeot, Citroen and many more.
If you’re unsure whether your vehicle is fitted with a wet belt, or whether it’s due for replacement, get in touch and we’ll be happy to advise.
Get booked in today before it becomes a much bigger and more expensive problem.
