Audi RS3 8Y steering wheel upgrade 🔥

Full swap from the standard round wheel to our flat bottom design, finished in matte carbon fibre to match the interior, with green accents complementing the car’s colour theme and Charcoal Grey 9002 Alcantara for that proper sporty feel.

Audi RS3 8V carbon fibre steering wheel upgrade 🔴

This Audi RS3 8V came to Control Customs UK last week to have our new R2-shaped carbon fibre steering wheel professionally fitted.

The customer specifically requested red accents to match the RS3 interior, creating a completely bespoke, OEM+ finish. The combination of carbon fibre, our less aggressive R2 steering wheel shape and interior matched red stitching transforms the driving position perfectly.

Every custom Audi RS steering wheel we produce is made to order, with a choice of carbon fibre finishes, leather, Alcantara, stitching colours, painted accents and personalised specifications.

You may be wondering…what are we doing to this Golf MK8 GTI now? 👀

We’ve built carbon steering wheels for the VW Golf MK8 / MK8.5 R & GTI before, and on many cars the factory Driver Assist, Emergency Assist & Travel Assist systems worked perfectly.

But there’s a problem 👀

VW software updates can directly affect the steering wheel electronics and the way these assistance systems communicate. We’ve now seen cases where, after building wheels for customers, the assistance functions either didn’t work correctly or stopped responding.

So instead of accepting that as “just how it is”, we went back to development. 🔬

This wheel is part of our latest testing, and we’re now in the final stages of developing a solution that keeps everything operating through original manufacturer components.

No hidden modules.
No bypasses.
No tricks.
OEM functionality is the goal.

That’s why you’re seeing the wheel stripped back again. We’d rather spend the extra time developing it properly than send out something we’re not 100% confident in.

We’re getting closer. 👀

We’ve been thinking about developing something for the Astra platform for a long time. It’s not a cheap steering wheel, and we know it won’t be for everyone, but no request is too small for us.

Now it’s here, and you can build it your way:

Something slightly different for this Volkswagen Golf Mk7 R 💯

Keeping the original OEM shape, this custom steering wheel features matte carbon fibre on the top section, with a mix of smooth Nappa and perforated leather throughout. Finished with grey stitching to perfectly match the interior.

A subtle OEM-style upgrade that looks seriously good.
